Growing up, I was one of the children whose parents kept them away from functional electronic devices to prevent them from taking such devices apart and breaking something in the process. Suffice to say, I have always had a knack for electronic devices and computer hardware. This love for electronics played a significant role in my decision to major in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
After graduating from High school, I attended Jefferson State Community College (JSCC) for two years. While at Jefferson State Community College, I was enrolled in the UAB joint admission program which allowed me to have a smooth transition into UAB after my graduation. It was at JSCC that I got introduced to software development. This exposure to software development strengthened my love for computers.
The Fledging team is made up of people with bright ideas and a significant amount of talent and they always make me look forward to coming to work the next day. The position of Startup Rotational Intern has enabled me to explore different duties and projects across multiple departments throughout the company.
I have been given the opportunity to work on various software development project for process automation and optimization in our operational processes. I have also been privileged to take the lead on the design aspects of some of our research and development projects.
A few things I like to do during my free time include: Playing Football (soccer), Video editing, Drawing (Graphite), 3D modeling with a side of Netflix. Also, I do not like Sushi, just putting it out there for the world to know.
I have a total of four semesters left while writing this article. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I plan to pursue a graduate and doctorate degree in Computer Science with a long-term goal of getting into the nanotechnology field.
I am looking forward to seeing where Fledging goes next and I hope to make a significant contribution to Fledging’s progress moving forward. #TakeFlight
